Overview -

Raised flooring requires many cutouts to allow cabling to pass from the subfloor to the equipment area and cabinets. Years ago heat densities and air conditioning efficiency were not leading considerations. With today's heat densities it is important that conditioned air

leaving the AC unit gets where it is needed. The open area in simple floor tile cutouts allows the conditioned air to leak where it is not needed. The result is insufficient air where it is needed. To solve this brushed air grommets were created. These work to minimize air loss through floor tile cutouts and thus to maintain underfloor air pressure. Multiple configirations are available.

These units have integral trim borders, removable rear brushes for use with large or small quantities of cables. They are manufcaturer from flame retardent ABS polycarbonate. They are a simple solution to a growing data center problem.

Air Guard Standard

Above is the standard model. Nominal cutout size is 5 x 10. Exact dimensions are on the product drawing.

Air Guard Safety Cover

Above shows the standard model with the optional safety cover for use on cutouts which do not have cables yet. It provides a removable hard cover over the opening.

Air Guard Extreme

Above is the Air Guard Extreme. This version adds a neoprene gasket beneath the brushes for maximum resistance to air leakage from under the floor. Top pictures shows the unit with the safety cover.

Additional versions are available and may be seen on the product brochure. The Air Guard brand has been independently tested vs. other systems and shown to perform significantly better (allows less air leakage) with cables passing through it (i.e.real world testing). Here are the reports:
