Overview - Underfloor and Overhead Power Cabling
Distrubtion of power from the panelboard to the specific computer load or server cabinet CPDUs is routed and delivered via computer power cables made of a shielded liguid tight cables. These can be field made by a local contractor or factory made as UL assemblies. If field made a major conceptual benefit disappears. The Natioinal Electircal Code requires field made computer power cables to be securely fastened in place to the subfloor. When factory made and listed computer power cables are installed they do not require secure fastening. The good news is costs of factory made computer power cables are typically the same or less than field made ones. Delivery is available in limited quantities overnight.
Multiple colors are available to assist IT centers in identifying redundant feeds. With dual power servers it is beneficial to ensure each power supply is feed from a different source or panel. We provide nine (9) different colors to aid in circuit source identification. These colors include:
